Just off a footpath leading through a dell and out into a field the path takes us to the end of a long avenue of Wellingtonia Redwoods. 32 in all lining a drive up to a large house called Cuffty Manor.
Very unfortunately at some recent point in time, some horses were let close to the trees and the resulting damage can be seen. However being a Redwood I am sure they will withstand this damage and recover.
These trees were probably planted in the 1870's and have reached heights of about 100 ft . Please click pictures to enlarge.
