The Snowdonia National Park covers over 800 square miles of natural beauty there are 100's of lakes, 90 mountain peaks, 37 miles of pristine coastline and beaches, moors wetlands and forests. A rainbow beetle and lily you won't find anywhere else on earth and of course there is the tallest mountain in England and Wales. Betws-y-Coed is one of the best holiday destinations in Wales. The dramatic coastline, vibrant vllages and a sweeping country side it's easy to see why. 
 
  The  neighbouring villages and towns are all unique to the area . The confluence of 3 main rivers,Âfon Conwy, Afon Llugwy, and Afon Lledr,in betws-y-coed are all very good game angling rivers and are excellent for fishing Salmon, Sea Trout and Brown Trout.&nbsp

Getting to and from Betws-y-Coed.

Betws-y-Coed is situated on the main A5 trunk road which runs from London to Holyhead through Snowdonia and was once a coaching stop for the Royal Mails stagecoach.( A good replica is available to see at the Tyn y Coed Hotel in Capel Curig. It has recently been re-furbished to its working condition of years ago.
 Well worth to stop by for a Pint and quick Lunch.

The A5 from London to Shrewsbury was originally the old Roman road section..
Apart from road travel , there is a main line station operated by Arriva Trains which runs from Llandudno Junction to Blaenau Ffestiniog. A very scenic route and one worth the time spent to explore its length. From Llandudno Junction you can pick up the main line to London and on to Holyhead, where you catch the Irish Ferries or Stena Line ferries to get to Ireland.

There are frequent bus services from the main stop in Station Road to all local towns and villages. If you catch the Sherpa Bus it will take you to the Pen y Pass Car Park if you wish to climb Snowdon. A return bus service will bring you back to Betws-y-Coed.

Travel coaches come to Betws-y-Coed nearly everyday dropping off visitors from LLandudno to spend a couple of hours here. 

If you travel to Betws-y-Coed during any Bank  Holiday it is highly advisable to book your accommodation well in advance, as there are only so many Hotels and Guest Houses to accomodate everyone. 
You may well be unlucky to secure the  accommodation you require and have to find somewhere in a neighbouring village
Eating out in Betws-y-Coed.

You will find very good restaurants in all the Hotels and some set by themselves.
 The Royal Oak LLugwy Restaurant, The Riverside Restaurant,The Ty Gwyn ,The Dragon  Chinese Food ,The Golf Club. The Pont y Pair Inn offers  very good Sunday Roasts.

 A Sunday Carvery at the Waterloo Hotel is very popular.
The Bistro offers very good lunches and evening meals. There is also a Tapas Bar, a Home made Pizza Parlour. Fast food outlets for Fish and Chips.
 The Home made Cake Shop, The Alpine Cafe in Station Road.
The nine hole golf course is set in a spectacular location in Betws-y-Coed and offers visiting golfers the chance to play on a day ticket. Well worth a visit  to keep your game up to scratch .

If you come and stay during the normal week days or week-ends then no major problems should occur. But just remember that Betws-y-Coed  is always a busy village with plenty of day visitors during the summer months ready to explore Snowdonia.

If so then you have a really varied range of Activities. Betws-y-Coed is becoming one of the major European centres for Surfing, Zip Wires, White Water Rafting, and its latest adventure the Zip Worlds Fforest Coaster, which opened to the public today( May10th 2017 ) Video Opposite.
What can you expect when you come for the day or two days . There are plenty of outdoor clothing shops offering popular brands. The choice is good and varied, Rohan, Sports Direct, Cotswold, Trespass, Cunninghams, Milletts, Edinburgh Woolen Mills, Anna Davies ( Barbour Clothing ). Hawkshead.

If walking is your thing , then there are numerous walks of all lengths and interests.
There are very local walks starting from many local points in Betws-y-Coed. The Tourist Information Centre can certainly help you .
Is your Sport Fishing.?
We have a good choice of river and lake fishing. The three rivers around betws y coed offer Salmon , Sea Trout and Brown Trout fishing. The rivers are spate rivers so you do have be in the right place at the right time to be in with a chance of catching a good Salmon.

Marin Trail betws-y-coed
One of our very popular sports is Mountain Biking and we have the popular Marin Trail  and  other local trails in Penmachno .
The Marin trail is in the Gwydyr Forest in the Snowdonia National Park and starts just outside LLanrwst and is open all year round.

Surf Snowdonia is another very popular venue.If you fancy surfboarding in Europes largest wave garden you can go to Dolgarrog and try your skills there. 
Overnight accommodation is available in Pods on site.
These are some of the sports you can enjoy, but there are still loads more things to see and do,and with the Snowdonia Mountains very close by it is up to you to take your choice from all the mountain activities that are going on in Betws-y-Coed..
The Mountain Training Trust at Plas y Brenin offer all sorts of courses for mountaineers, canoeing, kayaking , etc etc.
