Church of Saint Michael Betws-y-Coed
A further very picturesque 14th Century Church of Saint Michael ,now not
used for regular services is to be found on the way to the Golf Club,
and is situated close to River Conwy.
St Michael's - Built in the 14th Century, the church contains the effigy
of Gruffydd ap Dafydd Goch, grandson of one of the Welsh Princes. The
churchyard has recently been surveyed by the Gwynedd Family Historical
Society who have produced a comprehensive report into the inscriptions
on all the graves. This church is now in the care of the Friends of St
Michael's who are raising money to restore the church, and develop a display
about the history of Betws-y-Coed to go inside. There is usually a member

and a key to St Michael's is available from the Conwy Valley Railway Museum
next door, during their normal opening hours. Membership of the Friends
costs £10 per annum, and for more information, (you may like to include
