Tree Top Adventure attractions tie knot on four-way marketing deal

FOUR North Wales-based tourist attractions are launching a joint initiative to “rope in” visitors.

Llanberis-based Ropes & Ladders, Ropeworks of Pwllheli, Get Wet in Bala, and Betws y Coed-based Tree Top Adventure – thought to attract 80,000 visitors a year between them – are collaborating on the venture.

Sean Taylor, of Tree Top Adventure, said the businesses, which offer visitors adventure activities including rope courses, had agreed to work together.

A total of 150,000 brochures with a map and details of the businesses are being produced: 65,000 will be distributed in the Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Stoke and Wolverhampton areas. The rest will be placed with North Wales Tourism for use across the region.

Mr Taylor said: “All four sites offer something different but it occurred to us that if someone visited one they could be interested in one or more of the others. It’s a good example of competitors working together and trying to increase business in the sector.” March 19th 2008.

The first of its kind in Betws-y-Coed Snowdonia. This highly adventureous tree top course enables participants to actually high wire walk or zip line along specially created routes high in the tree tops of a local woodland.

The tall Douglas firs in this woodland are an ideal species to be able to set up a course for fun adventurers. Beginners to experienced welcome . You will be professionally supervised and clipped onto high wires to enable you to perform all of the set tasks. The object being is to start at the first platform and work your way completely round the array of rope ladders, wires, ropes, bars and tyres and perching on the platforms on each stage of the course.

At present there is a large stoned Car Park which will hold cars and Mini Buses .

Booking for the course is done online .

Project Director Sean Taylor has even more plans for expanding the project . He hopes that families will come for a good day out and facilities for a family day will be announced. Disabled people will certainly be welcome to use their own section of the course to be built for them .
